Poker Pros to film Poker Night in America at Rivers Casino and Resort Schenectady

During August 22-25, Rivers Casino and Resort Schenectady will be hosting a King of the Hill tournament between four Poker pros for Rush Stre 7BALL et Production’s Poker Night in America TV series. According to the official press release, this will be a high-stakes competition that will be followed by the show’s flagship No Limits tournament and meet-and-greet opportunities with the pros.

The event will kick off with a first-ever $200,000 heads-up King of the Hill tournament before a live audience, which will be played at Van Slyck’s lounge at the casino. The competition will see Doug Polk, “Poker Brat” Phil Hellmuth, Frank Kassela, and Daniel Cates fight for the winner-take-all cash pot, each risking $50,000 of his own money. The event will also be streamed live via PokerNightTV’s Twitch account for those that can’t attend.

The main competition will be followed by Poker Night in America’s $25/$50 No Limit televised event that will be played at the same lounge during August 24-25. During the event, visiting or local players will be able to enter the tournament and play live against the pros.

“I can’t wait to welcome the poker community to Rivers next week! Having these titans of the game and Poker Night in America at Rivers Casino is just another reason Schenectady is the place to be for poker action,” Mary Cheeks, General Manager of Rivers Casino and Resort commented in the press release.

Coinciding with the pro event will be the return of the Capital Region Classic tournament at Rivers Casino Schenectady, which will be played in two “Days”, with several Day One flights between August 23 and 26. The tournament would be a $100K guaranteed No Limit Hold’em event with Day One buy-ins starting at $260 and Day Two buy-ins going for $1,100. The chips can be carried off to Day Two by early flight players and the guaranteed prize pool is a minimum, i.e. more interest will see the prize pool grow.
